I Got to Swig Wine at the Kwik Meal Cart With Gary Vaynerchuk

Who says wine can’t go with street food!  The latest episode of VendrTV is up, and features Gary Vaynerchuk (from Wine Library TV) pairing wine with food from the Kwik Meal Cart and the Dessert Truck (R.I.P.) VendrTV host Dan Delaney was nice enough to invite me out to Kwik Meal (fresh off their Street Meat Palooza 2 victory), so if you want to see us swigging wine on the corner of 45th and 6th, you’ll want to check out the video posted after the jump.  (Warning: I am not an attractive man.)

Step Inside Former Shins Drummer Jesse Sandoval's Food Cart

VendrTV is a new web video series in which host Daniel Delaney travels around the country sampling street-vendor food. (Wow, that guy has an incredible job!) In the newest installment, Delaney samples Sandoval's food and interviews him about the cart. Sandoval talks about how his father used to work in the food cart business and how he's always loved cooking. He does not say anything about leaving the Shins.

Portland Food Carts on VendrTV

While getting lunch at the new food cart Nuevo Mexico, owned by former Shins drummer Jesse Sandoval, we stumbled into the path of roving food reporters from VendrTV, who're in town doing a segment on Portland food carts (I think they also hit Savor Soup House; not sure where else). They asked me a couple of probing questions like, "What are you eating?"…

VendrTV comes to Boston – Has a SpeedDog

Dan Delaney emailed me and intro’d his website and new episode of VendrTV.  There are only a few things in this world I could watch all day long, and one of them is grilling.  More specifically, burgers, dogs, sausage – you get the picture.  So it was with no hesitation I watched this video (3 times) and wanted to share it with you all… check out the dogs after the jump!

Hallo Berlin’s Rolf Babiel Tells VendrTV How Germans Like Sex

Hallo Berlin (on 54th & 5th) is the latest cart to get their own episode on VendrTV, and watching Rolf Babiel work the cart while simultaneously answering the host’s questions is a sight to behold.  I learned the hard way not to take anything Rolf says seriously, but he ends up being pretty well behaved for most of this video- talking about how growing up poor in Germany taught him how to run an extremely efficient cart. The funniest bit is actually an outtake at the very end where he explains how Germans like to be spontaneous… like with sex. (Bonus Reveal: Rolf claims to have had sex in the store room and on the beer barrels at the restaurant.)

Shop Talk: Daniel Delaney of VendrTV

Daniel Delaney is sorry. He just finished a bit of a rant about how zoning laws that govern where street vendors can do business are putting a stranglehold on Philadelphia’s food cart culture, and seemed startled when I said I assumed he was now based in New York.

Blue Bottle Stars in VendrTV Segment!

One of the hottest and most delicious topics du jour is food carts, and VendrTV makes a practice out of traveling the country to showcase some of the very best ones. This week, the guys at VendrTV found their way to Blue Bottle Coffee’s original kiosk location in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. VendrTV host Dan Delaney is joined by Facebook’s own Dave Morin for the episode, and Dan also has the chance to chat with Blue Bottle owner James Freeman about the company.

Jake & Amir Visit Papa Perrone’s Truck

College Humor stars Jake & Amir visited Papa Perrone’s Truck the other day, and VendrTV was there to catch the action. Why Papa Perrone’s? Because apparently pizza is “college food”. Kind of a stretch if you ask me (since I’m pretty sure no college students come to Midtown for pizza) but you know what would be college food? A Rutgers Grease Truck sandwich (which coincidentally enough VendrTV visited a few weeks ago.) I’ve been begging for this since we started the Midtown Lunch Sandwich Challenge. Will somebody please step up to the plate and make this mozzarella stick/chicken finger/french fry monstrosity happen? Papa Perrone? Nino’s? Are you listening?

VendrTV Takes to the D.C. Streets (and Their Food)

VendrTV is a relatively new podcast, hosted by Daniel Delaney, that focuses on the country's street foods. VTV's latest episode is a chatty profile of On the Fly, the eco-friendly street-vending company that has found a way around D.C.'s onerous regulations. It's a fairly simple and straight-forward profile of the company and its products, but Y&H thinks Delaney and company should have researched D.C.'s  street-food history more before jumping into the thorny subject. Plus, On the Fly doesn't need the publicity. The pupusa trucks in Montgomery County do.

VendrTV Visits 20th & Market

VendrTV launched in February with former Philadelphia resident and voice of Rittenhouse Square, Daniel Delaney searching out great street food around the world. We’ve been waiting for him to come back to Philadelphia and have to say, we’re not surprised he wound up at Kostadinos “Gus” Hristis’ falafel stand at 20th and Market.

VendrTV Visits the 53rd St. & 6th Ave. Halal Guys

VendrTV, the new video podcast dedicated to uncovering the best street food in the world, has devoted their third episode to the famous chicken and lamb over rice guys on 53rd St. and 6th Ave. in Midtown. The episode is hosted by Daniel Delaney (with a little help from yours truly) and he visits the famous nighttime cart on the SW corner, their daytime sister cart which parks on the SE corner, and the imposter cart that parks on the SW corner during the day. The episode brings to life a series of posts from Midtown Lunch, and is vaguely reminiscent of that “report” on WCBS TV last November- except that it’s good.

Recently street food has become the talk of the culinary world. Some chefs have gassed up fancy new trailers to offer everything from Twitter-loving LA-based Kogi BBQ to gourmet hot dogs. Last week Daniel Delaney launched VendrTV to document the street food scene. He starts with Kim Ima’s Treats Truck full of fresh bakery sweets in New York City. Watch for new episodes in Philadelphia and cities near you soon.

VendrTV Launches With Midtown Treats Truck Video (Do You See Yourself?)

Vendr TV launched yesterday, a new website and video podcast that goes inside the world of street vendors. They plan on covering street food from all over the world… but naturally are beginning in New York City. For their first video, they spent the day in Midtown with Kim and the Treats Truck- and not surprisingly Blondie and Brownie were caught on video buying treats in the background. (In case you thought their “Taking on the Treats Truck One Treat at a Time” feature on their blog was a farce… this is the evidence that they are in fact always there.)

Food TV on the Road: A Conversation with Daniel Delaney of VendrTV

Delaney and his crew were in San Francisco earlier this summer taping episodes, but I didn’t catch them before they wrapped up their episodes (which include visits to places like Blue Bottle’s original alley shop, Spencer on the Go, and Let’s Be Frank). I checked out their Webcasts and was impressed by the quality of the production. I wanted to find out more.
